Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

This triangle is a visual representation of how our thoughts, feelings and actions are all connected. Thoughts lead us to feel, feelings influence how we act, and our actions/behaviors are a significant determination in how we view the world around us. Without Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the process continues to repeat. And repeat.

Thoughts

Feelings

Actions

If this negative cycle looks familiar, know that you are not alone. We all have experienced this process to a degree. However, if it is something that you feel is affecting your life and overall well-being, it may be time to take action. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a great way to learn more about your internal dialogue and how it relates to your feelings, actions and behaviors.

Therapy for Depression or Anxiety

Finding the right therapist can be challenging. If you’re struggling with the symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, or any other personal mental health concern, you likely feel frustrated and lost, unsure why you can’t just relax, believe in yourself and achieve your goals.

Perhaps you don’t know why you feel so empty and dissatisfied, but you struggle to produce long-term changes. Or maybe you are aware of a particular issue or challenge that’s causing you pain, such as an unfulfilling job, grief due to loss, or deep self-doubt, but you don’t know how to shift the way you experience and move through the world.

It may be that part of you longs for something different, but another part feels unsure and uncomfortable with change. You might wonder if something’s wrong with you, or question whether anyone truly lives a happy, empowered life. You don’t need to go through this alone – therapy can help you navigate these issues.

Couples or Marriage Counseling

No matter how long you and your significant other have been together, navigating relationship issues can be disheartening and isolating. You may feel as though you don’t have anyone you can talk to about these relationship problems, especially if you and your partner share a friend group or feel embarrassed or guilty about the fractures in your relationship. It might seem as though no one can offer nonjudgmental, unbiased insight you need to resolve conflicts and move forward in a way that supports you both.

That’s where couples therapy and marriage counseling can help. I will provide you and your partner with a safe place to talk about your issues and work towards a healthier, more fulfilling relationship.

Virtual Therapy

Virtual Therapy, also known as online or tele-therapy can be a great alternative to face-to-face counseling when you are unable to travel to the therapist’s office. Clients have the option to enjoy the convenience of working on themselves in the comfort of their own home.

I treat online sessions the same way I do in-person sessions. I use secure and easy-to-navigate video platforms, and I strive to create a safe space in which we can explore things together. If you feel hesitant about discussing issues over video, you can even turn your webcam off, so that you can see the counselor but not be seen.

Virtual therapy can be conducted from anywhere in the world. All you need is access to the internet. You can use your computer, phone, iPad or any other tablet-enabled device. Most laptops come equipped with a videocam and a mic, which makes it very easy to use. If your computer does not have this, you can purchase an inexpensive videocam that connects via the USB port. Get in touch to discuss how virtual therapy can work for you.
